Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore the impact of organizational cynicism, which is among the concept researcher recently focus, on perceived performance. The total number 148 public employees working in Karaman province were surveyed with convenience sampling technique. Data were analyzed via SPSS 20.0 statistical software package. Results indicated that public employees had moderate level of organizational cynicism and high level of perceived performance. It has been concluded that there is a statistically significant relationship between organizational cynicism and its sub-dimensions, cognitive cynicism, affective cynicism and behavioral cynicism levels and performance levels of public employees, organizational cynicism, which is a dependent variable, has a significant effect on performance and has a negative effect on performance. In addition, a significant difference was found between the groups in terms of organizational cynicism and performance levels according to gender, marital status, education level and service period of public employees.Keywords: Organizational Cynicism, Performance, Public Employees, Karaman

Bu çalışmada son yıllarda araştırmacıların yoğunlaştığı kavramlardan birisi olan örgütsel sinizmin performans üzerindeki etkilerini belirlemek amaçlanmıştır. Karaman ilinde görev yapan kamu çalışanları üzerinde kolayda örnekleme yöntemi ve anket tekniği ile veriler toplanmıştır. 148 kamu çalışanından elde edilen veriler SPSS 20.0 paket programı aracılığıyla analiz edilmiştir. Analiz sonuçlarına göre; kamu çalışanlarının orta düzeyde örgütsel sinizm ve yüksek düzeyde performans sergiledikleri belirlenmiştir. Kamu çalışanlarının örgütsel sinizm ve alt boyutları olan bilişsel sinizm, duyuşsal sinizm ve davranışsal sinizm düzeyleri ile performans düzeyleri arasında istatistiksel açıdan anlamlı bir ilişkinin olduğu, bağımlı değişken olan örgütsel sinizmin performans üzerinde anlamlı bir etkisinin olduğu ve negatif yönde etkilediği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Ayrıca kamu çalışanlarının cinsiyet, medeni durum, eğitim durumu ve hizmet sürelerine göre örgütsel sinizm ve performans düzeyleri arasında gruplar arasında anlamlı bir farklılık belirlenmiştir.
