Abstract

In today’s world, urban transformation is seen as a response given economical, physical, social and environmental corruptions. It has been emphasized that urban transformation phenomenon has become a necessity for our big cities, and it has been intended that the citizen are living in a healthy, balanced and high-quality environment via urban renewal policies. As is well known, our cities are faced with problems due to various reasons such as agglomerations of high population, irregular urbanization and wrong location decisions. On the other, there is also the fact that environmental values can not be protected and environmental values and social responsibilities phenomenon should not be considered separately rather an integrated structure. Therefore, in the process of mutual interaction urban transformation activities with urban environment, arrangements which are not short term, but which can carry tomorrow’s responsibility even from today and which are suitable for the ethics and at sustainability basis. The study will focus on the urban transformation activities in conducted urban environment, the experienced urban transformation process will be evaluated from the point of view of ethics and social responsibility.

Günümüzde, kentsel dönüşüm, kentte oluşan ekonomik, fiziksel, sosyal ve çevresel bozulmalara verilen bir karşılık olarak görülmektedir. Kentsel dönüşüm olgusunun büyük kentlerimiz için bir ihtiyaç haline geldiği vurgulanmakta ve kentsel yenileme politikaları ile kentlinin sağlıklı, dengeli, kaliteli bir çevrede yaşaması amaçlanmaktadır. Bilindiği gibi, kentlerimiz aşırı nüfus yığılmaları, düzensiz kentleşme ve yanlış yer seçimi kararları gibi çeşitli nedenlerden kaynaklanan sorunlarla karşı karşıyadır. Diğer yandan, çevre değerlerinin gereği gibi korunamıyor olduğu ve çevresel değerler ile sosyal sorumluluk olgusunun birbirinden ayrı düşünülmemesi gereken bütünleşik bir yapıya sahip olduğu da bir gerçektir. Bu yüzden, kentsel dönüşüm faaliyetleri ile kentsel çevre arasındaki karşılıklı etkileşim sürecinde, etik anlayışa uygun ve sürdürülebilirlik temelinde, kısa vadeli değil, bugünden yarının da sorumluluğu taşınarak düzenlemeler yapılmalıdır. Çalışma, kentlerde gerçekleştirilen kentsel dönüşüm faaliyetleri üzerinde duracak ve yaşanan kentsel dönüşüm süreci etik ve sosyal sorumluluk açısından değerlendirilmeye çalışılacaktır.
