In the M.sC thesis, the antimicrobial activity of Ballota macrodonta and Sideritispholomoides which are endemic for Niğde region was determined as the effect of discdiffusion and minimum inhibitory concentration methods. The antimicrobial activitydefined as the extracts of plants were prepared with maceration method. The extractsprepared with ethanol, methanol, distilled water, acetone and chloroform at 30, 40, 50?Cand 2, 3, 4, 5 hour periods. The most effectine extract was formulated at 40oC withethanol from Ballota macrodonta. Moreover the flowers and leafs of Sideritisphlomoides were showed similar antimicrobial effects. The Proteus mirabilis 235determined as the most sensitive strain, and the Candida albicans was determined as themost resistant strain for antimicrobial activity of Ballota macrodonta and Sideritisphlomoides.
