Okuduğunu Anlama Testinin Geliştirilmesi

Abstract

The aim of this study is to develop a valid and reliable measurement tool to measure the status of middle school students’ reading comprehension. In the test development process, test items were established according to types of comprehension and questions in the context of theoretical framework. Expert opinions were taken before the test was finalized. Pilot study was conducted with twenty students and table of test specifications were created for content validity. After the final version of Reading Comprehension Test was formed, it was fulfilled on 696 students who studied at 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th classes of governmental schools in Gaziantep, Burdur, Niğde, Ordu and Istanbul in 2014-2015 academic year. Item difficulty and item discrimination values were calculated with statistical analyze. Cronbach’s Alpha was calculated to determine the internal consistency reliability of questions in comprehension test. According to the analyzes, the reliability coefficient cronbach’s alpha of the test results was found to be 0,744. According to item analyzes ITEMAN , the average item difficulty of the test is calculated to be 0,507 and the average item distinctiveness of the test is calculate to be 0,431. These results indicate that valid and reliable results were gained with the developed test
