Tourism is a sector which improves one country's prosperity that is to say itsinvestments and capacity to trade, creates revenues, provides foreign exchange, opensnew employment areas and affects social and cultural life. In World Economy , tourism,identified as 'industry without chimneys' has become a point of exit for the developmentof employmentin getting rid of the economic problems and hardships faced by thedeveloping countries.The rapid development which the world is facing affects tourism as well as theother sectors. Along with the development in tourism sector, the alternative tourismoptions are being put into agenda. Instead of the onlysummerbased tourism,ecotourism which spreads 12 months of the year has gained importance.Tourism that has an significant portion in our country's economy is focused oncoastal tourism. For increasing Turkiye's portion in world tourism depends on increasein variety and spreading it whole year. For this purpose, eco tourism, is a tourismconcept which provides the protection and the devlopment of natural and cultural valuesand at the same time the participation of local people and their progress. Turizm, bir ülkenin ekonomik refahını yani yatırımları ve iş hacmini geliştiren,gelir yaratan, döviz sağlayan, yeni istihdam alanları açan, sosyal ve kültürel hayatıetkileyen bir sektördür. Dünya ekonomisinde, bacasız sanayi diye tanımlanan turizmin,özellikle gelişmekte olan ülkelerin karşılaştıkları ekonomik sorunların ve darboğazlarınaşılmasında, istihdamın gelişmesinde bir çıkış noktası haline gelmiştirDünyanın yaşamakta olduğu hızlı değişim, tüm sektörleri olduğu gibi turizmsektörünü de etkilemektedir. Turizm sektörünün gelişmesiyle birlikte alternatif turizmseçenekleri gündeme gelmektedir. Sadece yaz aylarına yönelik turizm yerine yılın on ikiayına yayılan ekoturizm önem kazanmaktadır.Ülkemiz ekonomisinde de önemli bir paya sahip olan turizm, kıyı turizmiüzerine yoğunlaşılmıştır. Türkiye'nin Dünya turizm sektöründen aldığı payınarttırılması turizmin çeşitlendirilmesine, yılın on iki ayına yayabilmesine bağlıdır. Buamaçla ekoturizm, doğal ve kültürel değerlerin korunması, geliştirilmesi aynı zamandayerel halkın katılımını ve kalkınmasını sağlayan bir turizm anlayışıdır.
