Abstract

Jeolojik dönemde dünya çok şekil değiştirmiştir. Deniz olan yerler kara, kara olan yerler ise denizdi. Diyarbakır Ergani ilçesine kadar Arabistan yarımadasının uzantısıdır. Bu nedenle Diyarbakır ikliminin yumuşak olduğunu gözlüyoruz. Tarih öncesi Diyarbakır'da özellikle Eğil ilçesi ve Kocaköy bölgesi denizdi. İsmi ise Tetis deniziydi. Tarihte Basra Körfezi Ergani, Lice-Genç ilçesine kadar uzanıyordu, burası denizdi. Deniz ürünlerinin Diyarbakır'da varlığı bu şehrin bir deniz kenti olduğunu göstermektedir.
