Temporomandibular eklem anatomisi ve rahatsızlıkları

Abstract

Temporomandibular eklem (TME) dış kulak yolunun hemen önünde, temporal kemiğin altındaki mandibular fossa ile mandibula kondili arasında yer alan diartrodial bir eklemdir. Temporomandibular eklemin rotasyon (dönme) ve translasyon (kayma) hareketleri vardır. Genel nüfusun %30-50 sinde temporomandibular eklem kliği bulunur. TME kliği olan hastaların çoğunda belki değişik derecelerde disk deplasmanı vardır. Okluzyon-temporamandibular eklem-çiğneme kasları arasında uyumsuzluk olduğunda mutlaka doğal denge oluşur, ancak oluşan bu denge yapı taşlarında muhtemel bir değişiklik meydana getirir. Bu nedenle ortodontik tedavi planlamaları yapılırken kraniyomandibular sistemin fonksiyonu ve bu fonksiyona etkili etkenler göz önüne alınmalıdır.
