Karpuz Mozaik Virüsü (WMV-2)’nün doğal konukçusu Sicyos angulatus

Abstract

This study was aimed at detection of virusin bur cucumber (Sicyos angulatus L.) collected from Black Sea region. Double antibody sandwich enzyme-linked immuno sorbent assay (DAS-ELISA) was used to test the 11 leaf samples for the presence of following viruses; Cucumber Mosaic Virus (CMV), Tobacco Mosaic Virus (TMV), Tomato Mosaic Virus (ToMV), Watermelon Mosaic Virus (WMV-2), Zucchini Yellow Mosaic Virus (ZYMV), Squash Mosaic Virus (SqMV), Papaya Ring spot Virus (PRSV), Potato Virus Y(PVY). Among tested viruses, only WMV-2 was identified from the collected leaves. To our knowledge, this is the first report of natural occurrence of WMV-2 in S. angulatus in Turkey
