Abstract

İslam medeniyeti, XVI. ve XVII. yüzyıllara kadar Osmanlılar, Safeviler ve Moğollar gibi üç büyük devletin hüküm sürdüğü Asya, Afrika ve Avrupa coğrafyasında hâkim olan egemen bir güçtü. XVII I. yüzyılla birlikte İslam dünyası siyasi açıdan gerilemeye ve küçülmeye başlamıştı. Bu yüzyılda Moğol imparatorluğu yıkılırken, Hindistan alt kıtası İngilizlerin sömürüsü altında kalmıştır
