Kültür endüstrisinde astroloji: Gazete sütunlarından çevrimiçi platformlara

Abstract

Dating back to ancient times, astrology emerged when human beings studied the celestial bodies and followed the movements of the stars in order to satisfy their curiosity to predict the future. Astrology has no scientific basis and is therefore subject to various criticisms. However, it is a hobby or a guide for people. Therefore, it attracts the attention of societies as a cultural element. Astrology has become very popular due to global pandemics, economic uncertainties, unpredictable disasters and war risks. The increase in the number of astrology-related content and pages on social media platforms is particularly noteworthy. Because social media circulates cultural elements on a universal scale and offers them to the masses. This paves the way for cultural elements to become a potential product for capitalist consumption.
