ABSTRACTIn this thesis, it is taken in hand that developments which appear of nation-state systemand debates which consider nation state, modernism and postmodernism which arereflections of politic systems of nation state and post nation state. Especially, it isemphasized on stages of state systems which are taken on a shape due to changes intechnological, economical, sciences and politic areas.We find the first signs of state in the Middle Age developments which came intoexistence in economic system, church and cities in the Middle Age of Europe as from12 century, cause to and change a system shared nation and developing of state system.Furthermore, nationalism which appeared after the Reform Movements, theRenaissance and Geographical Discoveries which is affect all of Europe as from 16century, is one of the basis reasons to founding of nation state system. Generally,accepting of nation state in the world is result of nationalism which is appear in theFrance RevolutionsAfter the founding of nation state, nation state system started to solve as a result ofdevelopments in economic, social, politic and information technology as from 19century. Besides, postmodernism appeared to bring in the foreground differences,pluralism and localism, because social problems which appeared after the SecondWorld War and modernism which is reflection of nation state, couldn?t realize theircommitments.

ÖZETBu tezde, ulus devlet sisteminin ortaya çıkışını sağlayan gelişmeler, ulus devletsistemi, ulus devlet ve ulus devlet sonrası siyasal sistemin yansımaları olan modernizmve postmodernizm kavramlarını irdeleyen tartışmalar ele alınmaktadır. Özellikle, herdönemde teknolojik, ekonomik, bilimsel ve siyasal alanlardaki değişimler sonucudeğişen devlet sisteminin aşamaları üzerinde durulmuştur.Devlet sisteminin ilk tohumlarına Ortaçağ döneminde rastlamaktayız. OrtaçağAvrupa'sında 12. yüzyıldan itibaren ekonomik sistem, kilise ve kentlerde yaşanangelişmeler, devlet sisteminin gelişerek ulusa dayalı bir sistem haline gelmesine nedenoldu. 16. yüzyıldan itibaren ise Avrupa'yı tümden etkileyen Reform Hareketleri,Rönesans, Coğrafi Keşifler ve sonrasında ortaya çıkan milliyetçilik akımı, ulus devletsisteminin ortaya çıkmasının temel nedenlerinden oldu. Genel olarak, dünyada ulusdevletin bir sistem olarak kabul görülmesi Fransız devrimleri sonucu ortaya çıkanmilliyetçilik akımı sonucudur.19. yüzyıldan itibaren dünyada, ekonomik, sosyal, politik ve bilgi teknolojilerindeyaşanan gelişmeler sonucu ulus devlet sistemi çözülmeye başladı. Yine II. DünyaSavaşı'ndan sonra ortaya çıkan toplumsal sorunlar ve ulus devletin yansıması olanmodernizmin vaatlerini gerçekleştirememesi nedeniyle farklılığı, çoğulculuğu,yerelliği ön plana çıkaran postmodernizm ortaya çıktı.
