Türkiye'de elektrik tüketimi ile GSYH arasındaki simetrik ve asimetrik nedensellik ilişkileri

Abstract

Enerji tüketimi ve ekonomik büyüme üretim sürecini etkilediği gibi politika yapıcıların da ilgisini çeken iki temel faktördür. Bu iki değişken arasında var olan ilişki ekonomi ve enerji politikalarının oluşturulabilmesi açısından önemlidir. Bu makalede, Türkiye’de 1980-2017 dönemine ait yıllık veriler kullanılarak elektrik tüketimi ve GSYH arasındaki ilişki zaman serileri analizleri doğrultusunda incelenmiştir. Değişkenler arasındaki nedensellik ilişkisi simetrik analizde Hacker ve Hatemi-J (2006) Boostrap Temelli Toda-Yamamoto nedensellik testi ile asimetrik analizde ise Hatemi-J (2012) asimetrik nedensellik testi ile araştırılmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre, simetrik analizde değişkenler arasında nedensellik ilişkisi bulunamamış, asimetrik analizde ise, pozitif bileşenlerde değişkenler arasında karşılıklı bir nedensellik ilişkisi mevcut iken, negatif bileşenlerde değişkenler arasında herhangi bir nedensellik ilişkisi tespit edilememiştir
