Sağlık çalışanlarında bireysel performans ve FOMO (FEAR OF MİSSİNG OUT) ilişkisi

Abstract

The changing century of technology, which provides rapid effects on communication tools and ways of communicating, is changing people's lives in rapid ways. The intensive use of mass media and social media has seriously affected people's lives. The type of anxiety, which is called Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) in the literature and referred to as the Fear of Missing Out in Turkish, is a concept defined as the fear of not being able to follow everything that happens in people's lives and that they share on social media platforms. Individual performance, on the other hand, is the degree to which goals are achieved as a result of all the efforts put into performing a job. In this context, this study aimed to reveal the FOMO relations with the performances of individuals working in the health sector and to examine the issues affecting the individual performance of the employees and to offer suggestions in terms of precautions. Fear of Missing out on the Update scores were below the average in the study. It is desirable for healthcare professionals to have a low FOMO value during their busy work hours. It has been observed that the Fear of Missing Out does not differ according to variables such as gender, marital status, educational status, income, age, title and time spent in the profession. A weak relationship was found between the individual performances of healthcare professionals and the Fear of Missing Out.
