Tematik Radyo Yayıncılığı

Abstract

The radio has completed its technical development over nearly forty years from 1865 to 1900 with the contributions of various scientists. During the First World War, the first test broadcast in the world were mostly made for military purposes, and from the 1920s onwards, they were regularly broadcast. The use of radio as a propaganda tool in World War II increased its power in mass communication and experienced the golden era of radio until the 1970s when television became widespread. The radio, which could not reach its old popularity from 1970 to 2000s, found the opportunity it sought with the digitalization of communication and reached an exit with internet and new media applications. Thematic broadcasting is one of the classifications of broadcasting in the field of media and mass communication. Thematic broadcasting is a concept used both in radio and television broadcasting today. In this article, the subject is discussed in terms of radio. Accordingly, it is possible to express thematic radio broadcasting as a type of broadcast that devotes a significant part of the broadcasting time to topics such as news, music, sports, economy, traffic, religion, documentary, education, culture and history and identifies a specific audience as the target audience, except for the general audience. Today, there are many thematic radio channels in our country with a very wide audience.
