Televizyon ve Magazin Kültürü

Abstract

The theorists who make a survey of television as a distinctive medium such as Marshall McLuhan, John Fiske, John Hartley, Stuart Hall, John Ellis, Raymond Williams showed various and different approaches. However, in spite of its all diversity and assortment, it looks possible to categorize these theories as approaches concentrating on particularly instrumental/ structural, linguistic/ textual and environmental characteristic of television. In its entirety, it looks that none of these approaches are not satisfying to have explanation for the question on what and how television. Especially the question on how Television affects and transforms reality perception and social behaviour in terms of content and formal feature continues to have agenda as a matter that has not been properly examined. This study focuses on magazine pattern with authority on entire television and the offered informational pattern and thus has contribution in removing the deficiency.
