Abstract

Sağlık turizmi; kişilerin ihtiyaç duydukları tıbbi tedaviyi almak, termal kaynakları kullanmak, rehabilitasyon hizmetleri ya da kendilerini iyi ve sağlıklı hissetmelerini sağlayacak hizmetlerden yararlanmak amacıyla bir başka ülkeye gitmeleridir. Sağlık turizminin bir alt başlığı olan medikal turizm, insanların tedavi olmak amacıyla yabancı ülkelere seyahat etmesi anlamına gelmektedir. Bu çalışma, dünyada pazar hacmi giderek artan medikal turizm alanında Türkiye'nin mevcut durumunu incelemek, Rusya ve Orta Asya ülkelerinden İstanbul'a gelen hastaların memnuniyet düzeylerini belirlemek amacıyla hazırlanmıştır. Çalışmada, öncelikle dünyada sağlık ve medikal turizm hakkında literatür çalışması yapılmıştır. Ardından, Türkiye'de medikal turizmin mevcut durumu analiz edilmiştir. Yabancı hastaların sosyo-ekonomik özellikleri, tedavi için yurt dışına gitme nedenleri, Türkiye'yi tercih sebepleri, hastanelerin seçilmesi, hastaların aldıkları sağlık hizmetlerinden memnuniyet düzeyleri anket çerçevesinde yapılan yüz yüze mülakatlar sonucunda incelenmiştir. Tez kapsamında yapılmış olan analiz ve değerlendirmeler ışığında, Türkiye'ye medikal turizm amacıyla gelen hastaların aldıkları hizmetlerden pek memnun oldukları ve hasta sayısının daha da artırılabilmesinin mümkün olduğu görülmüştür. Ancak, hasta sayısının artırılması için yabancı dil bilen sağlık personel sayısının ve niteliğinin yükseltilmesi, Rusya ve Orta Asya ülkelerinde Türkiye'nin tanıtımının daha etkin yapılması, müşteri odaklı pazarlama çalışmalarının yürütülmesinin gerekli olduğu anlaşılmıştır. Health tourism is a term for travelling of the people to another countries to get the medical care they need, use thermal resources, rehabilitation services, or get services that will make them feel good and healthy. Medical tourism is a subset of health tourism, which means travelling to foreign countries for medical treatment.The aim of this study is to examine the current state of Turkey in the field of medical tourism, which has an increasing market volume in the world, and to determine the satisfaction levels of patients from Russia and Central Asian countries coming to Istanbul.Firstly, literature on health and medical tourism in the world has been studied. Then, the current state of medical tourism in Turkey has been analyzed. The socio-economic characteristics of foreign patients, reasons for going abroad for treatment, preference reasons for Turkey, selection of hospitals, satisfaction levels of health services received by patients were examined as a result of face-to-face interviews.In the light of the analysis and evaluations made within the scope of the thesis, it is seen that patients who are coming to İstanbul for medical tourism are very satisfied with the services they receive and that the number of patients can be increased even more. However, in order to increase the number of patients, it is understood that the number and quality of health personnel who know a foreign language should be increased, the promotion of Turkey in Russia and Central Asia countries should be made more effective and focused marketing studies should be carried out.Key words: Health Tourism, Medical Tourism, International Patient Mobility, Independent States Community, Patient Satisfaction.
