The effect of Entrepreneurial characteristics on entrepreneurial intention

Abstract

Entreprcneurship is an essential spinc in globalization and economic development, vvhich promotc innovation and ncvv product development to mcct the high demand and thc quest for sophisticated produets. Entrepreneurial Characteristics motivate and enable individuals to start the proeess of establishing an enterprise. The purpose of the study is to determine the effeet of entrepreneurial characteristics on entrepreneurial intention. This thesis sets out to examine how the entrepreneurial characteristics possibly affect individual's entrepreneurial intention. Previous studies vvere examined on the subject fıeld to provide detailed insight into thc literatüre and set a road map for thc study.To investigate this phenomenon appropriatcly, onlinc survey vvas conducted in istanbul Commerce University and University of Bremen. Specifically, 401 graduate students from the business and economics department participated in the survey. The data was systematically analyzcd using SPSS to perform dcmographic analysis, deseriptive analysis, factor analysis for both scales, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, and regression analysis. The hypotheses of the study vvere tested and accepted. The seleeted characteristics arc statistically proven to bc affccting entrepreneurial intention. Thc rcsults of thc study arc expccted to shed light on thc future rescarches.

Girişimcilik, küreselleşme ve ekonomik kalkınmada önemli bir unsur olup, yüksek talep vesofistike ürünler arayışı için yenilik ve yeni ürün geliştirmeyi teşvik etmektedir. Girişimcikişilik özellikleri, bireyleri bir girişim kurma sürecine başlama konusunda motive eder veolanak sağlar. Çalışmanın amacı, girişimcilik özelliklerinin girişimcilik niyeti üzerindekietkisini belirlemektir. Literatür hakkında detaylı bilgi vermek ve çalışma için bir yol haritasıbelirlemek amacıyla konu alanında daha önce yapılan çalışmalar incelenmiştir. Bu konuyuuygun bir şekilde araştırmak için İstanbul Ticaret Üniversitesi'nde ve BremenÜniversitesi'nde araşturma yapılmıştır. Araştırmaya, İşletme ve Ekonomi bölümünden 401yüksek lisans öğrencisi katılmıştır. Verilere demografik analiz, tanımlayıcı analiz, her ikiölçek için faktör analizi, güvenilirlik analizi, korelasyon analizi ve regresyon analizi SPSSkullanılarak uygulanmıştır. Çalışmanın hipotezi kabul edilmiştir. Seçilen girişimciliközelliklerinin girişimcilik niyetini etkilediği istatistiksel olarak kanıtlanmıştır. Analizsonuçları gelecekteki araştırmalar için öneriler ve çalışmanın sonuçları izlenerek tartışılmıştır.
