Authors: Paredes Mendoza, Claudia Angelica;

Inseminación Artificial Cervical en Ovejas Pelibuey con Semen Fresco

Abstract

The general objective of the research was to provide information on the techniques of cervical artificial insemination in Pelibuey ewes with fresh semen in the province of San Martín, as specific objectives were: to evaluate the reproductive behavior of Pelibuey ewes post cervical artificial insemination with fresh semen in the province of San Martin and describe the process of the cervical artificial insemination technique in Pelibuey ewes with fresh semen in the province of San Martin. The research was of an applied type with a descriptive level; For the execution of the study, artificial insemination with fresh semen was performed on 19 multiparous pelibuey ewes cycling between 3-4 years of age with a body condition of 2.5. and an average weight of 30 kg. The results obtained showed that by means of the cervical type AI, 47% of ewes in heat were impregnated. In addition, a descriptive statistics was obtained on the gestation time in Pelibuey ewes, where a standard deviation of 5.025 and a variance of 25.250 were obtained; Likewise, the descriptive statistics of the time elapsed to the next heat of the Pelibuey ewes that did not manage to get pregnant through AI were obtained, with a standard deviation of 3.3 and variance of 10.89. It is concluded that cervical artificial insemination is an excellent technique that helps us improve the quality of the sheep herd.
