Synthesis of glycerol carbonate from glycerol over heterogeneous catalysts

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, heterojen katalizörler kullanılarak gliserolün dimetil karbonat (DMC) ile transesterifikasyonu yoluyla gliserol karbonatın sentezi araştırılmıştır. Ca, Mg, Al ve La kaynakları kullanılarak çift katmanlı hidroksit sentezlenmiştir. Ca ve Mg'un Al ve La miktarına oranı 3 ve 4 olacak şekilde farklı 2 tip çift katmanlı hidroksit sentezlenmiş, bu malzemeler 700°C ve 800°C kalsine edilerek toplamda 6 katalizör sentezlenmiştir. Sentezlenen katalizörler, X-ışını kırınımı (XRD), BET yüzey alanı analizi, taramalı elektron mikroskobu (SEM), Fourier dönüşümü kızılötesi spektroskopisi (FTIR) ve termogravimetrik analiz (TGA) gibi teknikler kullanılarak karakterize edilmiştir. Katalizörlerin katalitik etkinlikleri gliserol karbonat sentezinde test edilmiştir. Katalitik olarak en aktif katalizörün belirlenmesinin ardından sıcaklık, reaksiyon süresi, katalizör miktarı ve reaktan mol oranı gibi parametrelerin gliserol dönüşümü ve gliserol karbonat seçimliliği üzerinde etkileri araştırılmıştır. Kalsinasyon sonrasında katalizörün çift katmanlı hidroksitlerin yapısal değişikliklere uğradığı, bunun sonucunda karışık metal oksitlerin (MMO) oluşumuna ve orijinal LDH yapısının bozulmasına neden olduğu gözlenmiştir. Katalitik olarak en aktif katalizör (CaMg)3AlLa700 olarak bulunmuş, en önemli parametrenin ise katalizörün bazikliği olduğu belirlenmiştir.
