In this study, samples from different biotopes and depths (0-1250 m) at 93 stations, were collected to determine the taxonomical and ecological features of Cephalaspidea (Mollusca: Gastropoda) species distributed along the Mediterranean, Aegean Sea and Black Sea coasts of Turkey as well as in the Sea of Marmara. As a result of the faunistic analysis, 17 genera, 34 species and 3736 individuals belonging to 12 families were identified. Of the determined species, Laona pruinosa, Notodiaphana atlantica, Philine vestita, Retusa parvula and Retusa variabilis are new records for the Turkish mollusc fauna. In addition, 7 species (Haminoea navicula, Haminoea orbignyana, Philine monterosati, Notodiaphana atlantica, Retusa crebrisculpta, Retusa desgenettii and Roxania utriculus) are new reports for the Mediterranean coast of Turkey; 7 species (Retusa crebrisculpta, Retusa parvula, Haminoea orteai, Haminoea orbignyana, Laona pruinosa, Philine vestita and Roxania monterosatoi) are new ones for the Turkish Aegean Sea coast; 2 species (Retusa parvula and Retusa variabilis) are new records for the Sea of Marmara and Retusa variabilis is new one for the Black Sea coast of Turkey. Among the identified species, Acteocina mucronata, Mnestia girardi, Pyrunculus fourierii and Retusa desgenettii are alien species. In the investigated area, P. fourierii (22%) was the species with highest number of specimens, whereas Cylichna cylindracea (52%) was with the highest frequency index values. Among the examined biotopes, soft substratum communities were characterized by the highest number of species and individuals (33 species and 3557 individuals).
