Normal işitmeye sahip baş dönmesi şikayeti olmayan tinnituslu bireylerin VHIT sonuçlarının değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

Tinnitus may be a reporter to some diseases. Even in the absence of any serious illness, it can seriously affect quality of person's life. Although the mechanism of tinnitus is not fully understood, many studies have been carried out on this subject. In many studies, tinnitus has been reported to be caused by irregularities in the inner ear and vestibulo-cochlear nerve, auditory pathway and supratentorial structures. Studies have shown that a thorough evaluation of these systems should be performed together in patients with tinnitus due to the anatomical proximity of the vestibular and auditory systems. Our aim is to evaluate whether the peripheral vestibular system is affected in individuals with tinnitus without hearing loss and vestibular disorder. This study was conducted with 30 healthy individuals and 30 individuals with tinnitus without hearing loss and vestibular disorder. THI, TRQ and THQ questionnaires were administered to each individual in the tinnitus group and VHIT was performed to evaluate the vestibular system and VOR gain values were interpreted.A statistically significant difference was found between two groups in VOR gain values. There was no relationship between severity of tinnitus and VOR gain values.
