Abstract

Dünyada ve Türkiye'de kadınlarda meme kanseri, en sık görülen ve en fazla ölüme neden olan kanser türüdür. Meme kanseri yaygın olmasına karşın, genellikle yavaş bir gelişme hızı gösteren ve tanısı erken yapıldığında oldukça başarılı tedavi sonuçları elde edilebilen ve ölüm oranı azaltılabilen bir kanser türüdür. Ayrıca meme kanserinin erken tanı ve tedavisi yaşam kalitesinin yükseltilmesinde etkili olmaktadır. Meme kanserinde erken tanı uygulamaları olan mamografi, klinik meme muayenesi yaptırma ve kendi kendine meme muayenesi yapma meme kanserinin erken teşhisini sağlayarak kansere bağlı ölümlerin azaltılmasında hayati önem taşımaktadır. Bu çalışma, meme kanseri ve kendi kendine meme muayenesinin önemine geçmişten günümüze kadar pullar aracılığıyla dikkat çekmeyi hedeflemektedir. Bu amaçla filateli dünyasının en saygın kaynakları olan Michel ve Scott (filateli) katalogları taranarak dünyanın çeşitli ülkelerinde meme kanseri ile ilgili neşrolan yirmi adet filatelik malzeme sunulmuştur.

In Turkey and in the world breast cancer is the most common type and the leading cause of death in women. Although breast cancer is most common, generally is showing a slow growth rate and early diagnosis is made available and highly successful treatment outcome is a cancer mortality can be reduced. in addition, early diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer is effective in improving quality of life. Application in the early diagnosis of breast cancer with mammography, clinical breast examination and breast self-examination for early detection of breast cancer by providing the making of deaths due to cancer are vital in reducing. This study aims to draw attention the importance of breast cancer and breast self-examination through past to the present by stamps. Michel and Scott the world's most respected sources of philately were searched and twenty philatelic materials in various countries of the world about breast cancer were used.
