Abstract

Su,insan yaşamı için ana unsurdur. Su kirliliği çevre ve insan için ciddi bir tehdittir. En önemli su kirleticilerinden biri ve en tehlikeli olanları radyoaktif elementlerdir. Bu radyoaktif elementlerden biri de stronsiyum-90’dır. Stronsiyumun sulardan uzaklaştırılması amacıyla, bu çalışmada kızılçam (Pinus brutia) yaprakları üzerine stronsiyumun biyosorpsiyonu incelenmiştir. Çalışmada biyosorpsiyon denemeleri kesikli (batch) yöntemi ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Biyosorpsiyona etki eden parametreler olarak: çalkalama süresi, pH, başlangıç Sr+2 konsantrasyonu, sıcaklık ve adsorban miktarı incelenmiş ve optimum koşullar belirlenmiştir: çalkalama süresi 5 dakika, pH 7, sıcaklık 50°C, başlangıç Sr+2 konsantrasyonu 150 mg.L-1. Bu koşullar altında maksimum biyosorpsiyon kapasitesi 31,00 mg.g-1 bulunmuştur. Ayrıca Sr adsorpsiyonu için izoterm modelleri (Langmuir, Freundlichve D-R), kinetik ve termodinamik parametreler de incelenmiştir. Biyosorpsiyonun kapasitesini ve verimini arttırmak için, adsorban malzeme sodyum hidroksit (NaOH) kullanılarak modifiye edilmiştir. Modifikasyondan sonra maksimum biyosorpsiyon kapasitesi, 40˚C sıcaklık ve 200 mg.L-1 başlangıç metal iyonu konsantrasyonu için q=63,52 mg.g-1’a ulaşmıştır.
