39+646 çelik demiryolu köprüsünün sonlu eleman modelinin operasyonel modal analiz yöntemiyle iyileştirilmesi

Abstract

In this thesis study it is aimed that determining the natural frequencies and mode shapes (modal characteristics) of the 4-bay steel railway bridge via Operational Modal Analysis and Finite Elements (FE) methods and updating the initial finite element model of the bridge by means of obtained experimental data. This study consist of four chapters. In the first chapter, the importance of the modal characteristics and the informations how they are obtained are mentioned as well as previous studies related to thesis subject. Then, Theoretical Modal Analysis and Operational Modal Analysis methods and the equipments used in this method are mentioned respectively. In the last part of the first chapter brief description are given about the updating of the finite element model via experimental data and railways. In the second chapter, in the aftermath of the informing about the TCDD railway bridge selected for the thesis study, analytical results of the finite element model of the bridge and updated finite element model via experimental data are presented. In the third chapter analytical and experimental data are evaluated and obtained results and proposals are presented. References used in this study are presented in the last/fourth chapter. At the end of the study it is concluded that Operational Modal Analysis method can be used confidently for determining modal characteristics of the historical steel bridges and for updating finite element models.
