In this study, the effect of tannery sewage which was applied to to the soil in specific ratios and torf and zeolite on the physical-chemical properties of soil and growth, yield and the quality of the canola plant was investigated. With this aim, the sewage sludge which was taken from the tannery embroidery foundations were placed in a closed area for 4 months for the microbial decomposition and desiccation in a natural way and then its physical and chemical properties were examined. These wastes were mixed with the soil in 4 different ratio (% 0, %25, %50, %75). Torf and zeolit were added as 6 t da-1 in some of the treatments. A pot experiment with canola plant was conducted in greenhouse according to the coincidence block design. In this study, with the sludge applied there will also be the pots which was unapplied (control pots) and the pots which was applied with the recommended amount of mineral fertilizer for the canola. The experiment was consisted of 45 pots with 3 replications for each treatment. During the vegetation period the growth of the plants was examined. At the end of the vegetation period, plant and soil samples were taken. Plant nutrients and some of the heavy metal contents (Cr, Co, Pb, Ni, Cd) of root, stem and leaf parts of the plant and soil samples were determined. At the end of the study, genarally the contents of many elements were increased parallel with tannery sludge ratio.Especially,Cr was accumutalated in roots and boron in leaves. Keywords; Tannery sludge, Brassica napus, Torf, Zeolit, Heavy metals
