Sodyum perkloratin Poecilia sphenops (moli balığı) karaciğer ve tiroid histolojisi üzerine etkileri

Abstract

In this study, it is aimed to research the effects of perchlorate salts, which is one of the chemicals that are widely used but also possess a threat to the environmental haelth, on a model organism, Molly fish (Poecilia sphenops). In the thyroid tissue of the subject organism, hypertrophy and hyperplasia in follicle cells, depletion and/or heterogeneity in colloid and new vessel formation together with a widening of existing vessels were observed.Changes in the liver tissue are; increase in the number of cells in melanomacrophage centers, infiltration in sinusoids and in hepatopancreas, steatosis, deformation in nucleus shapes, necrosis and fibrosis.Paralel to the general information on perchlorates, thyroid is mainly affected by sodium perchlorate exposure and some histopathological changes were observed in the hepatic tissue, respectively. The results were discussed in detail.Key words: Poecilia sphenops, sodium perchlorate, thyroid, liver, ecotoxicology
