Spinalde kullanılan vidaların mukavemet analizi

Abstract

VII ABSTRACT STRENGTH ANALYSIS of SPINAL SCREWS ÇELEBİ, Kaan Umut MSc, in Mechanical Engineering Supervisor: Assistant Prof. Hasan YILDIZ 05/01/2005, 62 pages Since the application of pedicular screws in the stabilization of any fractural damage observed at the spine is very frequent. The spine and surrounding tissues are researched biomechanically and structurally. The purpose of this thesis is to draw the blueprints of spinal screw which has adjustable dimensions during a medical operation and to develop a three dimensional computerized solid model of this particular screw. This research is to design a spinal screw by simulating the effects of consequtive forces on screw which a patient body could create and to analyze the strength of spinal screw by using the finite element method. The weak point of the model is determined after applying force and subsequantly the design is unforced by changing the dimensions of screw and later the structure is anayzed by using the finite element method. Key words; Spine, biomechanics, the Finite Element Method (FEM), Pedicular screw.
