Abstract

VII ABSTRACT MEMORY, MEMORY BOUNDARIES AND EFFECTIVE MEMORY USAGE TECHNOLOGD2S ORDİN, Burak Master Thesis, Mathematics Department Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Fevzi ÜNLÜ 20 August 2001, 72 pages Except the introductory chapter, this thesis essentially consists of three chapters. In Chapter 2, first general definition of the memory concept is given. Then memories are divided into three classes according to their structures, accessing forms and technologies. The structural, semantical and usage properties of memory types belonging to these classes are studied and compared. In Chapter 3, as a mathematical model different approaches to the structure of memory are introduced and the works already done on this subject are reviewed. In algebraic point of view, memory is defined as a Galois field, and on the basis of this definition new definitions and theorems related to memory have been developed. Besides, the definition of memory model `Generalized Random Access Mathematics (GRAM)` is presented. In Chapter 4, `Generalized Random Access with Mathematical Memory Automata (GRAM-MO)` simulation program, which is the computer realization of Gram memory model, is introduced, its algorithm and source codes are given. Key words: Memory, GRAM, GRAM-MO, Automata, Galois Field.

ÖZET BELLEK, BELLEK SINIFLARI VE ETKİN BELLEK KULLANIMI TEKNOLOJİLERİ ORDİN, Burak Yüksek Lisans Tezi, Matematik Bölümü Tez Yöneticisi : Prof. Dr. Fevzi ÜNLÜ 20 Ağustos 2001, 72 sayfa Giriş bölümü dışında bu tez esas olarak üç kısımdan oluşmaktadır. 2. 4. Bölümde; Grem bellek modelinin bilgisayarda gerçekleştirilimi olan `Genelleştirilmiş Rasgele Erişimli Matematiksel Bellek Otomasyonu (GREM-BO)` simülasyon programı tanıtılıp, kullanım algoritması ve kaynak kodlan verilmiştir. Anahtar sözcükler: Bellek, GREM, GREM-BO, Automata, Galois cebri.
