Abstract

Japon bıldırcınlarında (Coturnix coturnix japonicd) yumurta kalite karakterleri genellikle orta ve yüksek düzeyde kalıtsaldır. Yumurtanın ağırlığı ile iç ve dış kalite ölçütleri arasında önemli genetik ilişkiler söz konusudur. Yumurta ağırlığı ve kalitesi canlı ağırlığın artırılması yada azaltılması için yapılmış seleksiyon çalışmalarında genellikle değişiklik göstermiştir. Yumurta verimi için yapılan seleksiyonun sarı içeriğini artırdığı saptanmıştır. Yapılan melezleme çalışmaları sonucu kimi yumurta kalite karakterleri için heterosis saptanmıştır.
