Bazı zeytin çeşit ve anaçlarının Verticillium solgunluğuna (Verticillium dahliae Kleb.) duyarlılıklarının belirlenmesi

Abstract

In this study, 51 olive cultivars, composed of 46 domestic and 5 foreign ones, selected from collection orchard of Bornova Olive Research Institute, and 4 clonal rootstocks of wild origin have been tested for their reactions to Verticittium dahliae Kleb by using highly virulent pathotype (Tl) of the disease. Pathogen was inoculated into self-rooted plants from their stems. Most of the cultivars and rootstocks used in the tests have been found to be highly susceptible to the pathogen. Whereas, 4 domestic cultivars (Dilmit, Erdek Yağlık, Siyah Salamuralık, Yün Çelebi), 1 clonal wild rootstock(D36) and 2 foreign cultivars (Arbequine, Frantoio) were resistant to the pathogen with their disease rates not exceeding the limit of 30 %. Six domestic cultivars including Gemlik (Belluti, Butko, Samanlı, Saurani, Sinop No:2), 1 clonal wild rootstock (D9) and 3 foreign cultivars (Ascolana, Chemlali, Leccino) were within the group having medium degree of susceptibility. Seven clones of Gemlik and 5 clones of Ayvalık, the cultivars having susceptibilities of medium and high degree, respectively, displayed similar rections to their own parents.vm There were not any important change on the expression of the disease by second inoculation of some clonal rootstocks (D9,D36) and Gemlik cultivar that displayed different behaviours to the pathogen, besides inoculation of the rootstocks and cultivars inoculated from their roots (D9, D36, D14, D43, Gemlik) Development of the disease has been monitored by grafting some very susceptible cultivars having economical importance on the resistant and medium susceptible rootstocks (D9, D36, Gemlik). Some of these applications suppressed the disease to important extent. Among the 4 activators tested, Messenger and ISR-2000 lessened severity of the disease to some extent in 2 cultivars (Gemlik, Manzanilla) having different level of susceptibility.
