In this study which is one of the great thinkers of Western Philosophy of Plato tried to explain their views about the soul. According to Plato, the world of ideas of the soul and the divine source, the earth has decreased. Bu çalışmada, Batı Felsefesinin en büyük düşünürlerinden biri olan Platon'un ruh hakkındaki görüşleri açıklanmaya çalışılmıştır. Platon'a göre ruh idealar dünyasından yeryüzüne inmiştir ve tanrısal bir kaynaktan çıkmıştır. Ruhun idealara yönelmiş akıl yönü, akla uyan irade yönü ve ona uyan içgüdüsel yönü olmak üzere üç yönü vardır. Akıl, iradenin de yardımıyla içgüdülerin zorlamasına karşı koymalı; insan, ruhun asıl yurduna dönmesi için gereğini yapmalıdır. Platon, ruhun ölümsüzlüğünü de, hatırlamaya, sonsuzluk bilgisine ve hayat idesine dayalı çeşitli metafizik kanıtlarla ispatlamaya çalışmıştır.
