Cycles of gonadosomatic index of sea urchins (Paracentrotus lividus Arbacia lixula) in Urla-Iskele.

Abstract

A. lixula ve P. lividus Akdeniz’de subtidal kıyısal alanlarda birlikte yaşarlar. P. lividus belirgin tadı ve aroması nedeniyle tüketimde tercih edilen türdür. Gonadları sos, krema, çorba ve omlet içinde taze olarak tüketilir. P. lividus ‘un gonad gelişimi Şubat ve Mayıs (% 8.84 ve % 8.97) aylarında maksimum olmuştur. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre yıl boyunca P. lividus’un gonad indeksi (GSI) 2.87±1.02 ve 8.97±0.56 arasında, A. lixula’un gonad indeksi ise 4.28±1.27 and 6.91±0.84 arasında değiştiği tespit edilmiştir. Urla İskele’deki deniz kestanesi populasyonun % 78.52’sini P. lividus, % 21.47’sini de A. lixula türü deniz kestanelerinin oluşturduğu tespit edilmiştir
