Coins Belonging to Anatolian Seljuks Period in Aydın Museum

Abstract

The fact that the art of local Anatolian Christianity, the effects based on Sasani and Central Asian iconopraphy on coins reflect the cultural effects of people with different cultures, philosophies, life styles and faith who lived in Anatolia and outside the borders of Anatolia before the Seljuks. Similar features found on Artuqid, Mengujeckid, Danishmendid and Konya Seljuk coins reflect the commitment to the values of art during the period of Anatolian Seljuks which can be seen in other fields of art.
