Apparel industry has great importance for the national economy in Turkey as well as all over the world. Marketing costs play a major role in the sector's competitiveness. There are many main cost items like raw materials, financing, logistics, communication, labor and energy costs in the sector. The biggest share of the garment sector is the raw material and labor force. In addition, factors such as technology, promotion efforts and taxes are among the important factors that affect cost. Marketing costs divide to five main groups; sales expenses, promotion expenses, physical distribution expenses, financial expenses and general sales expenses. When marketing costs and other invisible costs are added to production costs, the total cost of the enterprise arises. Recent economic policies and raises of price, changes in loan interest rates and fluctuations in foreign exchange caused the cost of garment companies to increase. Turkish garment companies are manufacturing by contract to the internatonal brands. Also Turkish garment companies give services to multinational brands about accessory design, pattern, color, collection, distribution, packaging, labeling. And this constitute provides an important source of foreign currency inflow to our country. In this study, marketing costs which are effective in apparel sector and sector are examined, and in order to provide a competitive advantage in the market, suggestions were made for marketing costs.
