Abstract

Anahtar kelimeler: Enginar, çiçeklerime, tozlanma, döllenme, in vitro polen canlılık testi, tohum tutumu

vn ABSTRACT THE RELATION BETWEEN INFLORESCENCE POLLINATION-FERTILIZATION TREATMENTS AND SEED SETTING ON GLOBE ARTICHOKE ŞENBAHAR, Sibel Department Of Horticulture MSc. Supervision Prof. Dr.Benian ESER March 2003, 69 pages The aim of this study was to test the characteristics of inflorescence, pollination and seed setting on `Sakız` globe artichoke variety. This study was carried on the field and laboratory conditions. The property on seed setting between bagged. Control treatments and different head positions (first head second-third heads) were investigated. In order to determine the best time of pollen oblation, pollens were obtained at different periods of the day (at 6:00, 7:00, 8:00 a.m. and 14:00, 15:00 p.m) and pollen viability tests (staining and germination) which were related with the seed setting were done. During research, the criterias such as first and end flower appearance at the receptecal and diameter of receptecal (cm) which were related to seed setting was investigated. Althought there was no significant different between first and second-third heads connected with different head positions andVIII application of bagged-control in the heads which was examined seed set, the highest result was established in second heads application of control. It was determined viability pollen grain on pollen staining test, but it was no determined to success in vitro pollen germination tests. During this research, the frost damage and blighted areas that were seen on heads during inflorescence, which were affected the vegetative growth, were caused low seed setting. Key words: Artichoke, inflorescence, pollination, fertilization, in vitro pollen viability test, seed set
