Abstract

O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o nível de conhecimento de um grupo de ortodontistas, em regiões específicas do Brasil, sobre o traumatismo dentoalveolar e a movimentação ortodôntica em dentes traumatizados. Para este propósito, foram distribuídos 166 questionários com 25 perguntas objetivas sobre o assunto, dos quais 105 questionários foram devidamente preenchidos e recolhidos após 30 dias. Concluiu-se que, para 37% dos profissionais entrevistados, o nível de conhecimento para os traumatismos considerados não foi satisfatório, e quanto à movimentação ortodôntica, em dentes traumatizados, aproximadamente, 40% dos entrevistados não responderam satisfatoriamente as questões formuladas.

The objective of this work was to assess the knowledge level of an orthodontists’ group in specific areas of Brazil, about dental trauma and orthodontic movement in traumatized teeth. For this purpose, 166 questionnaires with 25 objective questions about this subject were distributed, of which 105 questionnaires were correctly filled and collected after 30 days. Concluding, all of the questions that the orthodontists were answered, to 37%, the level of knowledge for the others traumatism questions was considered not satisfactory and about orthodontic movement in traumatized teeth approximately 40% of the interviewed professionals not answered correctly.
