Estudos estruturais e funcionais das hemoglobinas de Phrynops geoffroanus (Schweigger, 1812)

Abstract

O presente trabalho tem por motivação efetuar a análise das hemoglobinas do 'cágado-de-barbicha', P. geoffroanus, realizando uma caracterização inédita na literatura e que contribuirá com os estudos de hemoglobinas de quelônios. Na medida em que a espécie estudada é capaz de permanecer por longos períodos submersa, quisemos observar as propriedades de transporte de oxigênio de suas hemoglobinas, e o controle alostérico exercido sobre elas. Para isso, traçamos o perfil das isoformas de hemoglobinas em amostras de sangue de Phrynops geoffroanus por procedimentos eletroforéticos em diferentes sistemas, efetuamos a caracterização funcional em relação às propriedades de transporte de oxigênio, fizemos análises da agregação ocasionada pela oxidação de cisteínas livres e também efetuamos análise enzimática de LDH em tecidos musculares.
