The objective of this research is to identify and discuss archival practices reflecting their influence and contribution to social representation in archives. The guiding problem of this research is consolidated in the following question: in the universe of personal archives, how and which archival practices contribute to the representation of diversity and social plurality in archives? The hypothesis developed is based on the understanding that if we consider that there is no neutrality and impartiality in the archival practices employed in archives, then it is possible to identify and understand the influences and contributions of these practices to the defense and guarantee of social representation. This research is justified by its positive contribution to the enrichment of the theoretical and scientific development of Archival Science and Information Science, as it proposes to discuss current issues involving both personal archives, archival practices, and social representation in contemporary times. This research is based on a qualitative approach, of a bibliographic type and with an exploratory theoretical dimension, aiming to reflect on archival practices in archives, especially regarding the universe of personal archives, and perceive them as a fundamental contribution to theory in order to subsequently outline and present the contribution of the archivist professional to the defense, guarantee, and expansion of social representation. As a result of this research, we present our theoretical reflections on archival practices in light of feminist criticism, aiming to demonstrate the existence of non-neutrality and impartiality in these practices, as well as possible influences and contributions to the defense and guarantee of social representation in archives, especially in the universe of personal archives.

O objetivo desta pesquisa é identificar e discutir as práticas arquivísticas refletindo sua influência e contribuição para a representatividade social nos arquivos. O problema norteador desta pesquisa consolida-se na seguinte questão: como as práticas arquivísticas influenciam e contribuem para a representatividade social nos arquivos? A hipótese elaborada parte da compreensão de que, se considerarmos que não há neutralidade e imparcialidade nas práticas arquivísticas empregadas nos arquivos, então, é possível identificar e compreender as influências e contribuições dessas práticas para a defesa e garantia da representatividade social. Esta pesquisa justifica-se por contribuir, positivamente, para o enriquecimento do desenvolvimento teórico e científico da Arquivologia e Ciência da Informação, uma vez que propõe discutir questões da atualidade que envolvem tanto os arquivos pessoais, as práticas arquivísticas e a representatividade social na contemporaneidade. Esta pesquisa fundou-se na abordagem qualitativa, do tipo bibliográfico e dimensão teórica de natureza exploratória, visando refletir sobre as práticas arquivísticas nos arquivos, principalmente no que diz respeito ao universo dos arquivos pessoais, e percebê-las enquanto contribuição fundamental para teoria para, posteriormente, traçar e apresentar a contribuição do profissional arquivista para a defesa, garantia e ampliação da representatividade social. Como resultado desta pesquisa apresentamos nossas reflexões teóricas a respeito das práticas arquivísticas à luz da crítica feminista visando demonstrar a existência da não neutralidade e imparcialidade nessas práticas, bem como as influências e contribuições possíveis para a defesa e garantia da representatividade social nos arquivos, especialmente, no universo dos arquivos pessoais.
