Escultura e gravidade

Abstract

This research addresses my recent artistic production, and develops from the structural characteristics perceived with these works. The effects of gravitational force on these works discussed through a contextualization of the theme around a sculptural tradition. The approach suggests that artistic procedures, starting with modern sculpture, more often assumed unstable characteristics of production — tension, risk, impermanence, imbalance, etc. Gravity, therefore suggested in this thesis not only as a structural foundation, but also as an essential element for reading, the works discussed here.
