Números inteiros e criptografia RSA

Números inteiros e criptografia RSA

Abstract

This work aims to present RSA Cryptography, one of the most used tools to transmit safe information over the internet. We begin with a brief history of cryptography from its origin to the emergence of the RSA method. In the sequence, we present the Mathematics on which the method is based, that is, the number theory attributed to the ancient Greeks and the contributions of the mathematicians Fermat, Euler and Gauss. We describe through an example the RSA public-key cryptography system, proving why the method works, the security issue as well as the impacts arising from the emergence of quantum computers. Finally, we show the digital signature, one of the applications coming from public-key cryptography algorithms and digital certificates.
