O gervão-roxo [Stachytarpheta cayennensis (Rich.) Gervão-roxo [Stachytarpheta cayennensis (Rich.) Vahl] is a native species, widely found in Brazil and with medicinal use. It is commonly found on the edges of forests and roadsides. There are few studies about this species, especially focused on agronomic information, where medicinal plants differ from other crops due to the need to interrelate dry mass production with active ingredient content. Thus, the aim of this study was to evaluate the agronomic aspects and the ipolamide and verbascoside content in 15 Stachytarpheta cayennensis (Rich.) Vahl clones from four Brazilian municipalities, cultivated in Botucatu/SP. The experimental design was in randomized blocks containing 6 blocks and 15 treatments that consisted of clones. Evaluations were carried out on fresh and dry mass from the aerial part and from the root, ipolamide and verbascoside contents in the dry extracts from the aerial part. For the active ingredient contents and dry mass production, the results from clones BR and PT were superior compared to the other clones (A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, P1, P2, P3, P4, P5, P6, P7 and P8), resulting in 5.16% ipolamide and 4.91% verbascoside content, and 6.19% ipolamide and 3.85% verbascoside, respectively.
