Abstract

The present work aims to comprehend the thought’s site of the Italian intellectual and politic Antonio Gramsci (1891-1937) in the contemporaneity, usindo as the principal historial source the Quaderni del carcere, produced in a fascist prision among 1929 and 1935. This issu is recurrent in gramscian studies, mainly in Italy. However, intending to launch new approaches for this question, we consider the Quaderni essencialy as a historical object, bringing the discussion to a historiographical field. Therefore, our work proposes a dialog between theoretical matrices from John Pocock’s linguistic conceptualism and german historiography, mainly Reinhart Koselleck and Jorn Rusen, together with Italian gramscian studies, guided by Giuseppe Vacca’s integral historicization and the Gianni Fracioni’s and Giuseppe Cospito’s filological studies. Thus, this thesis intends to observate, parting from an amplied diachronic reading, how the main concepts announced in the Quaderni are produced inside a Marxist language. Nevertheless, once condicioned by another historical consciousness, these concepts transpasses these language, putting Gramsci as a political thinker beyond Marxism, fundamental for a formulation of a democractical politic in the XXI century.
