Abstract

This work aims to analyse the relationship between labels in rap lyrics, study their construction, deconstruction, reconstruction and / or subversion of labels considered as deviant and imposed by the criminal justice system against specific groups. The work aims, above all, to seek the eyes of those who are, as a rule, stigmatized on which these labels fall. The research seeks a look beyond academic scientificism, which can be found in popular artistic expressions, such as the rap music genre, which brings experiences and experiences of its actors with the criminal justice system. Therefore, it is based on the theoretical contributions of critical and cultural criminology. Racionais MC's was the chosen musical group. The method chosen for the study was the discourse analysis (AD), because the opening of meanings that the method of investigation of the AD brings us dialogues with the methodological proposals of cultural criminology, theoretical contribution conducting the research. The discourse analysis of Racionais letters seeks to capture meanings and meanings that are only possible from the social, historical, political and ideological understandings of the enunciator. This perspective, therefore, breaks with the traditional paradigms of criminological research, valuing the listening and the eyes of the actors involved with the criminal issue from their place of speech. The intent is to understand how deviant labels and identities are sung by those who are commonly stigmatized.
