Abstract

O presente trabalho objetivou dissertar sobre aspectos culturais, sociais e científicos que a canção popular permite indagar. Tendo como objeto/fonte documental parte da obra musical de Tião Carreiro, tido como o criador de um gênero popularmente conhecido como pagode de viola, empreendemos uma análise do cômico cristalizado em suas canções como sendo vetor de identidade cultural caipira. Emblemático representante da música caipira e sertaneja, o cancionista é considerado o mais importante violeiro de todos os tempos. Influenciados pelo campo científico “história e música” para pensar a leitura e investigação da canção como documento histórico e, inspirados pelos Estudos Culturais para indagar as posições de sujeitos ou identidades na contemporaneidade, foi feito um percurso analítico buscando ressaltar elementos da cultura caipira e seus modos de vida emanados pelas canções. No repertório também percebe-se refletida a condição de trânsito que sofria o Brasil entre rural e urbano, consequência de aspectos da modernidade em avanço. As transformações socioculturais nos meios de vida das populações caipiras inspiraram por elas mesmas a manutenção e o perpetuamento de uma identidade de pertencimento com forte evocação de ruralidade, como se evidencia no repertório analisado. Para tanto, valeu-se da apropriação de conceitos estabelecidos por Antonio Candido para melhor compreender o universo cultural desse ator social e cultural do Brasil do século XX.

This work aimed to elaborate on cultural, social and scientific aspects of the popular song allows inquire. Having such as object / documentary source of the musical work of Tião Carreiro, considered the creator of a genre popularly known as Pagode de viola, undertook a comic analysis crystallized in his songs as vector hick cultural identity. Emblematic representative of caipira and country music, the songwriter is considered the most important guitar player (violeiro) of all time. So influenced by scientific field history and music to think about reading and research of the song as a historical document, inspired by cultural studies to investigate the subject positions and identities in contemporary times, was made an analytical tour of the musical source seeking to emphasize elements of rustic culture and their ways of life emanating from the songs. The repertoire also one sees reflected the traffic condition suffering Brazil among rural and urban result of aspects of modernity in advance. The socio-cultural changes in the livelihoods of populations hicks inspired by themselves the maintenance and perpetuation of belonging identity with strong evocation of rural life, as evidenced in the analyzed repertoire. Therefore, thanks to the appropriation of concepts established by Antonio Candido to better understand the cultural universe of this social and cultural actor of Brazil of the twentieth century.
