Nanotecnologia: ciência e engenharia

Abstract

O livro reúne temas de pesquisas representativos das atividades em nanotecnologia realizadas nos vários campi da Unesp. Destinado principalmente à comunidade acadêmica, desde alunos até pesquisadores qualificados nos mais distintos ramos do conhecimento, o trabalho visa lançar uma luz sobre o “estado da arte” da nanotecnologia no Brasil. A obra parte do pressuposto de que este ramo das ciências aplicadas focado no design, síntese, caracterização e aplicação de materiais e dispositivos na escala nanométrica representa uma oportunidade real de o Brasil se tornar mais competitivo em vários mercados, e por isto as pesquisas sobre o assunto precisam ser mais bem divulgadas. Os sete ensaios em que o trabalho foi dividido tratam de praticamente todas as grandes classes de nanomateriais: nanotubos de carbono, materiais cerâmicos e compósitos, polímeros, semicondutores e biomateriais. Os capítulos também procuram tratar desde os princípios básicos até aplicações recentes da nanotecnologia nos mais variados ramos, como na área ambiental, na engenharia civil e nas ciências agrárias.
