Abstract

Esta pesquisa traz uma proposta de zoneamento geomorfológico-ambiental voltado para o planejamento e a gestão ambiental da área da carta topográfica SB-23-X-B-IV-3, situada no município de Caxias – Maranhão. Trata-se de uma abordagem integrada do espaço geográfico centrada na paisagem como unidade de análise. Os zoneamentos ambientais são instrumentos estratégicos de planejamento, inseridos no contexto da avaliação de impactos ambientais. Resultam de estudos técnicos e científicos sob a ótica dos métodos e da abordagem integrada, no reconhecimento das potencialidades das paisagens de um dado espaço. Os trabalhos de gabinete concentraram-se na (re)elaboração de cartas temáticas e na análise das informações colhidas tanto nas pesquisas de campo quanto na revisão bibliográfica e cartográfica. Este procedimento permite realizar o diagnóstico, o zoneamento e dos processos naturais e das atividades antrópicas, fundamentais para o planejamento e conhecimento das mudanças ocorridas e das tendências atuais. This research brings a geomorphological and environmental zoning proposal aimed at planning and environmental management of the topographic area SB-23-X-B-IV-3, located in the city of Caxias – Maranhão. It is an integrated approach to geographical space focused on the landscape as the unit of analysis. The environmental zoning is a strategic planning instrument, inserted in the context of environmental impact assessment. Result from technical and scientific studies from the perspective of the methods and integrated approach, in recognition of the potential of a given space. The office works focused on the (re) making of letters and in the analysis of information collected in the field research and literature review and mapping. This procedure allows the diagnosis, and zoning of the natural processes and human activities, essential for planning and knowledge of current trends and changes.
