Abstract

The progressive constitution of the Doñana Natural Area in various municipalities of Huelva, Cadiz and Seville has been mainly supported by the development of natural heritage policies. A new scenario of interaction between people and the environment has been combined with the management of its recognized values. Providing access to preserved natural resources, including a substantial part of Doñana as a listed World Heritage Site, together with the reconsideration of its cultural property, have resulted in a highly complex response. The implementation of a significant and visible dynamic of creating networks of natural and cultural facilities for the citizenry should be highlighted. With this experience, we evaluate the results and the available potential. Motivating new paths beyond conventional concepts and devices and moving forward to a new dimension of the museum territory mark new heritage interpretations for Doñana.
