La actividad física y el ocio deportivo junto con el turismo son sin duda uno de los fenómenos sociales que inciden de forma directa en la economía de España. El sector deportivo se comporta como un motor económico que es capaz de generar millones de euros en ingresos y generar miles de puestos de trabajo. En este sentido, Journal of Sport Economics & Management pone a su disposición el presente monográfico, donde se incluyen investigaciones relacionadas con la Actividad Física y la Economía del Deporte desde diferentes áreas y puntos de vista. Por ello, el objetivo de este trabajo es mostrar el impacto que tanto la actividad física como el deporte tienen en la economía, a través de la recopilación de trabajos que relacionan la temática indicada.

Physical activity and leisure sports along with tourism are certainly one of the social phenomena that have a direct impact on the economy of Spain. The sports sector behaves as an economic engine that is able to generate millions of euros in revenue and generate thousands of jobs. In this sense, the Journal of Sport Economics & Management offers the monographic where research related to Physical Activity and Sport Economics from different areas and viewpoints are included. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to show the impact that both physical activity and sport on the economy, through the collection of works that relate the indicated theme.
