This paper analyzes the date of construction of one of the smallests and most forgotten castles placed in the province of Huelva (western of Andalucía). This one is called "Torres" ("towers"), and it is situated in an uninhabitated place in "Cumbres de San Bartolomé"; the building analysis, the study of the topography and the XIIIth and XIVth centuries documentation allow to defend the idea that was built by portuguese knights from the order of "Hospital" in the NMth century. This fact constitutes the maximun breakthrough to the heart of al-Andalus by portuguese reconquest, which was stopped firstly by the muslim army resistance from the north of Huelva, and later by the diplomatic reaction of Castilla
