Altos Hornos de la Fundición “La Concepción” de Marbella (Málaga)

Abstract

Se localizan en la finca «La Concepción», carretera de Istán, km 2,300, también llamada «La Laetitia», 29600 Marbella (Málaga), y el acceso es a través del puente sobre el río Verde a través de la carretera de Istán. Durante el año de 1844, Málaga produce el 72% de toda la fundición española de hierro, entre 1833 y 1862 las factorías de «La Concepción» (Marbella), «La Constancia » (Málaga) y «El Pedroso» (Sevilla) están a la cabeza de la producción general de hierros españoles. Dentro del área donde se encuentran las factorías se localizan cuatro minas en el término de Ojén, y seis en Mijas, Benalmádena y Marbella. En 1825 se inscribe una mina de hierro a favor de M. A. Heredia, y el 6 de agosto de 1826 se inicia la sociedad de La Concepción con nueve socios que poseen ocho acciones cada uno.
